· Features – the outline of a leaf, with: o One, two or three very slight indentations along the edge, to indicate “lobes” within a single leaf. § The one on the bottom is very slight – not even a tick to mark it, just a slight bend in the outline. § The one or two on the left are marked by (usually) very short ticks. o Occasionally, the indentation can be quite a bit deeper either in the outline itself (e.g., 25EMC.pdfp27.#8.3, 0115bl) or by having a longer tick (e.g., JM, 25EMC.pdfp27.#8.4, 0115bl, 0115br), to indicate leaves with more distinct lobes. o A wavy bold line inside, tapering to a point on the “outer” end, probably intended to reflect the vein structure of a leaf. § The degree of “veination” can vary from the very simplest – just a single wavy line (MC, K&H, etc) to more complex (TOK.p8.r3.c5, BMM9.p7.pdfp7.c4.r4.1). · Bonn has recognized a “full form”, with vertical symmetry and symmetrical leaves on each side (0115bh). This doesn’t seem to have a counterpart in MHD.

· Features – a boulder-outline glyph: o A human left hand, viewed from the palm side. o The thumb points upwards while the fingers are bent – curled into the palm: o Cross bands In the middle of the palm. o Optionally, a partitive disk in the bottom left. As with a number of other hand-based glyphs, the way that the nails are visible (“from the side”) make this particular position almost impossible to achieve, anatomically speaking (the nail of the thumb and those of the fingers being clearly visible at the same time). · Complex (sub-)variant – with a vertically recangular, tripartite element on the right, slighly resembling yu: o BMM9.p7.pdfp7.c4.r4.2 gives an example, but instead of crossed bands, there are two diagonal bands, touching. o MHD recognizes the existence of this (sub-)variant but has crossed bands. o There appears to be no Bonn equivalent.
